    tough workout!
got this for my nephew (10) for christmas. he’s into working out and got a kick out of this guy leading the work out session. We did it together the first time. I have to say, I started sweating during the warm up and I was quite winded towards the end. A lot of the moves are similiar to what I find on my Jillian Micheal dvds and such. Hi-knees, butt kicks, jump squats, planks, crunches, arnold presses (sans weights). You get a full body workout, a full warmup and full cool down. He does each move for 30-60secs each before moving on. The cues are right on. He even gives appropriate water breaks throughout. We both enjoyed the workout. CJ advises to do the workout every other day…My nephew is looking fwd to see what changes/strengths come to him during his off season (baseball).1/13 update: so we did the workout every other day for 2 weeks and moved up to level 2 on the dvd. level 2 was quite a workout. it’s tougher in that he goes a bit faster with the moves and does them for a bit longer. if you’re a parent doing this with you kids and using it as an addendum to your normal workout but want to make it more up to par with what you normally would do, it’s so easy to add weights to most of his moves. but even without, if you’re doing them 100%, you will get your sweat on. CJ is really fun with his moves, his cues are right on and the other 3 kids with him are fun to watch too. kids have so much damn energy! but it’s really fun to do with with my nephew and see his progression.have to do level 2 for 3-4 weeks and will buy the next dvd which i assume have levels 3&4.ps: after i wrote this, i went searching and there is no other dvd. i went to his website: […] and called them as well. seems there is no second dvd to compliment this one. so that being said. we’ll continue to do this the next month and move on to shaun t’s workout dvd for kids, which looks pretty good. but CJ has a fb page, so i’m gonna ‘like’ it and see what info i can get bout if he’s got one in the making.

    A little dated for 2017
Good workout for kids (and adults) it’s actually a little tough. My wife did it with my 10 year old son and was soon out of breathe.

GREAT DVD FOR AN ADVANCED THREE YEAR OLD BOY
My three year old is incredibly active and (for lack of a better word) “advanced” in matters of sports and fitness. We regularly go jogging together and he has been able to kick and throw a ball very far, and in a straight line (to hit a target), since he was taking his first steps at age 1. To help us get through the Canadian winter I researched fitness videos for days when it is too cold to go outside. I discovered that most of the workout DVD’s on the market for three year old’s were somewhat uninspiring. They were like kids singing songs and just waving their arms around. I am so glad that I did my research and found the Workout Kid DVD because my son loves it. Obviously I will only let him do level one, and I don’t let him do stomach crunches because I think that a three year old doing stomach crunches is perverse. However, he is thrilled to do most of the rest of level one. This is a great DVD and I highly recommend it. We do the workout together so that I can help him to do it correctly and so that I can stop him from doing the few exercises that I think he should not do.

Great for younger kiddos to stay active indoors
We bought this for our 8 year old and he enjoyed it. We like to have something fun/active to do on rainy/snowy weather when we cannot be outdoors. The segments are not super long and kept him engaged with the workout.

    A TRUE WORKOUT
Ordered this for my 11 year old son. This DVD has some kick behind it, because some of these moves are intense. My son tries to modify some of his moves. At first he was like this is to much, but still said he was going to do it. After a couple of days went by and he did not touch the DVD after his first few sessions I thought he was going to stop, but he has stared back with determination. I notice that he likes when I participate with him, so he works out even harder, so I will continue to join in from time to time. This DVD moves at a fast pace, and starts out like every kid using this item is FIT, because if there not they will really have some catching up to do, and surely will get fit if they stick to it. CJ talks a bit low, and the little jabs at the bigger boy could have been edited out (especially if a child that is using the DVD is overweight, and may not feel as confident as the kid in the video). It has two parts, but we are still working on part 1 as part 2 is more intense. A major plus is the water breaks and tips that flash across the screen (providing very helpful information), and the fact that almost every new move is demonstrated before they go into the workout. They understand fitness and target key areas to get you fit. I believe that if my son sticks to this DVD he will be ripped for Middle School. I give this DVD a 3 1/2, and would recommend!

    Fantastic Workout Video For Kids
I was looking for a workout dvd for my 12 year old son and checked out all that is out there. A lot of dvds out there are geared toward dancing, which I don’t think many boys are into. Also, I was looking for a dvd in which the instructor was a kid too. C.J. The Workout Kid fits the bill 100%. His workout covers all aspects of a good workout (warmup, cardio, strength training, cooldown) and has different stage workouts for beginners or more advanced. C.J. is a very good motivator and instructor and keeps the workouts fun. My son even got me to start working out with him to the dvd. I know I made the best choice when purchasing this dvd, and I can’t wait for the next volume to come out.

    ripped off
Got this video as a gift for my kids. They were excited about the video after seeing some clips on youtube. Well we put the video in and to our surprise there was no workout kid only an old movie. The DVD looked like workout kid on the disk but the old black and white film that played was most certainly not the workout kid.
