Easy way to increase intensity of my daily walk!
I purchased an 8 lb vest 3 months ago and started using it during my daily 30 minute walks wearing it 3 times a week. It fits well and is comfortable, plus I can get it snug across my back and shoulders and the weight is evenly distributed. After 2 months of use I have now started to wear it daily. It does exactly what I want it to do – increase the intensity of my low impact walk without adding time. I definitely noticed that my body heated up faster and the amount of sweat also increased – quite dramatically. I was just diagnosed with osteopenia and I’m hoping daily use of the vest will help with that!I took a picture the 1st time I tried it – looking at it now I see I had the vest on UPSIDE DOWN!!! Make sure the white stripes are up by your shoulders – LOLThe vest seems high quality for the price. I would highly recommend it!

So well made, fits my body well, which i was worried about. i have a large chest (DD). i got the 8 pound because I didn’t want it to be tooooo heavy, and the weight is perfect. after wearing it, my shoulders and neck feel really released and good. and i can feel it challenging my body in a good way when i’m cleaning, walking, bending over etc!

Hoping to build bone!
After airing out the smell for 4 days, I took my first walk wearing the 8 lb. weighted vest. I am 78 years old, 5’3″ tall, and 125 lbs. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 1999 when I shattered my right wrist. I have been doing 10,000 steps a day to build bone and that worked so well that for a time, I was testing “low risk for osteoporosis.” But about 3 years ago, I came up with osteopenia, and then just recently osteoporosis again! My son-in-law is a geriatric physical therapist who’s been helping me with maintenance all these years. He suggested the weighted vest. So it’s too early to see if it builds bone to do this, but my goal is to reach an hour a day and we’ll see what happens. I’m also adding boron through food to my diet. And I know I don’t eat enough red meat … so there’s room for improvement. I’ll update when I get the next DEXA scan … not sure when but hoping for more bone! Helps improve my posture and bone density. I can wear this while I either hike or walk around the mall. It has hangers for you to hang your pepper spray and any other key chains. I also hang my personal alarm on it just in case. They have great colors. I highly recommend.

Chances are I’ll come back and update this review but here’s why I only gave this vest 3 stars…It fits much smaller than the one in the pic and I’m really frustrated with items fitting differently than the pictures indicate. I don’t know if I received a different item than ordered, but it fits just like the posture corrector bought prior to this. Imagine putting it on and having it buckle right above your chest and only come to the bottom of your shoulder blades in the back. That’s the fit!Now, what I love about it… As soon as I buckled it I felt my shoulders pull back and since I’ve noticed issues with my posture lately that’s a beautiful thing!My suggestion, if you have any skeletal issues, bone density, spine, hips, knees, etc I recommend speaking with your doctor before ordering this. I ordered the lightest weight available so I wasn’t expecting it to be as heavy as it is. I have a slight issue with my lower back and as soon as I slipped this on I felt one of my lower vertebrae slip a bit. Not so much that it caused any discomfort but I definitely felt it move, so I decided to limit the amount of time I wear it and gradually increase it. Initially I only wore it around the house while cleaning and taking out the trash. Recently I began wearing it at the beginning of my exercises and intend to increase it to my full workout over time, eventually I’ll start wearing it on walks as well.I’m usually good at updating my reviews so I’ll keep everyone posted. Again, I only wish it fit the way it did in the pics. That would’ve distributed the weight evenly throughout my torso and not made it so top heavy, which would’ve made it more comfortable and not so hard on my lower spine. Right now all the weight across my shoulders and that’s creating the discomfort. I know if the weight were evenly distributed on the upper portion of my body it would be much easier on me physically. This feels as though I’m waking around with a heavy barbell laying across my shoulders.

I am a sporty petite stature (4’11”) and this vest is by far my favorite (i also have the v-type and the adjustable cop-like type) quite often vests tends to put pressure on my upper back or neck and this one doesn’t. Keep in mind i am not using this vest for HIIT.I have discovered that keeping it a bit loose fitting and only using the top clip leaves me with no pressure points or with early fatigue. Barely feel that it’s on. Wear it around the house while you do chores or walking, treadmill, elliptical or on Leg, lower body work out days as an added bonus to your skeletal system.

I really like this weighted vest. I live in London and don’t drive so I walk a lot. I wear the vest at the weekend when I am going to the shops or walking in the park. It just adds a little bit more exercise to the walking, which is great. I did not go for a very heavy vest as I thought that would put me off walking. So I went for an 8 pound vest and it is perfect.

I decided to start my regular walks with a weighted vest. Did some research and chose this one bevause its not super heavy and it distributes the weight in a very comfortable manner. Its excellent. Walked the dogs and did 5km in it today.
