    short segments
When my Afib kicks in, I can’t get out and walk nor exercise very much. But I know that I do need to exercise and keep moving. This DVD is great for that because each segment is only 8 minutes long and contains a large variety of movements, done while you are walking. Each one is ten seconds long, then you go back to walking. There is a count-down for each exercise at the bottom of the screen, and when you find yourself wanting to quit, you can see that the end is almost in sight. The exercises are designed so that you can go slower than is being shown, which is great for those in rehab or just getting out of the hospital or having one of those days when you know you should be moving but just don’t feel like it. The constant encouragement from the instructor at first was annoying, but after a while it becomes “friendly” and you get used to it. The fact that each segment is only 8 minutes long is such a help to those of us with heart or lung issues. I use this DVD all the time.

Great for basic beginners, who don’t mind chatter.
I had the same problem with this video that I’ve had with others, the leader talks too much. If there was some way to mute his voice while keeping the “music”, I would give it 5 stars. Other than that, I found the moves to be very basic and the repetitions to be too low and the weights to be too light. So, for me, I had to raise the reps and increase the weight, with little rest (just walking) between exercises. I have owned this video since August 2023. I now just turn the sound off and follow along in silence every few days as a little extra in my workout program.

Best workout DVD for Older people
I got it for my mom who is 65 plus. I had to write in my praise for this DVD after my mom liked it so much and using it for a while now. She does only this work out most days, but she does 2 8-minute sessions a day, . She told me The best thing about it, she never gets sore afterward. It must be designed so that you’re never over-doing any one movement but quickly moving on to the next body part. She really like the instructor positive encouragement.which really keep her motivated,I never saw my mom looking forward for her workout routine like that.I’m really glad I found this and most of all my mom loved it so much

    It does the trick but…
I love the concept of the exercises. Each set is 8 minutes long. I started out doing 2 different sets for a total of 16 minutes. I’m now up to 4 sets every day which is doable for me. I agree with others who say that the last woman (Cary) is very, very hard to watch. Not sure why he picked her to be on the DVD. I’m certain it’s a man thing! She seems lost, does a lot of the exercises like a 3-year-old would and I find it completely distracting. I usually watch Doug because he actually looks like he wants to be there. I would actually buy a different DVD if I knew it would have other people exercising with Jaime. Keep Doug, just replace the two women. Other than that, I find it’s a great workout.

the exercise is more appropriate for women or men over 60
The exercises seem to give a good work out without stressing joints. Not crazy about the women assistance, they lack personality, but I do like the instructor and the older gentleman assistant. this is one dvd exercise I think I’ll stick with.

Eh, A bit gimmicky for me. Unrecognizable Electric Guitar Muzak. Exercise and Beat Out of Sync.
The concept of 8 min focused segments with flexibility to add-on is great, but the production was very low budget — given the relative high price for this DVD. The backdrop is staged as a dingy, rundown old warehouse or garage, with non-descript rock posters, vintage speakers, keyboard etc. Clearly nobody wanted to pay royalty’s to use real known rock music songs — thus some made up form of annoying rock muzak without a distinct beat to keep pace with the exercise. The count down timer is confusing. Aside from the fitness instructor, it appears the producers recruited their mother or neighbor opposed to employing “senior” exercise professionals exhibiting a bit more enthusiasm. It’s lacking motivational engagement…and to constantly be referred to as “guys” is annoying. Somebody should have coached him to use a diversity of phrases like y’all, folks, friends so as not to be monotonous. Was hoping for a bit more entertainment and motivation.

Read the reviews (which you are doing!), they’ll tell you a lot. Although the mixed information is based on people’s skill set, you get a different perspective than the advertising. It’s not really rock music, for sure. It’s basic workout music, but it’s a big step up from that lameass jazzy music that they played at house parties on 70s tv shows. It does seem to speed up as you go through the segments though, I don’t think I was just getting tired. For my first attempt, I did 4 in a row, followed by the “Warmdown” and the “Stretching” segments. Maybe one isn’t enough for you and you can increase your weights or do more segments, or maybe it’s too much for you and you have the promise of being able to watch your strength grow if you pull back a bit and start with and stick with the first segment. I’ve seen people list their issues and this DVD is too much, but maybe you can adapt it for yourself. My mom is 87 with a lot of physical issues, PAD and arthritis in her back and things like that. I think she would be defeated as soon as she slid the disc in the pan, but if you have some body function, I think you can adapt these basic steps for your abilities. I used to be in pretty good shape but a health challenge has me at 60 and needing to to get back to where I was 6 years ago. I am trying to do two segments in the morning before I head to work and then the Stretch on days I’m feeling late as well as before bed. I’m thinking I’ll do “Warmup” and a toning segment this week before I head out the door, since I have a 20 minute walk to work. And the Customer Service is fabulous. I had an issue, quickly resolved, respectfully and efficiently. 5 stars for that.

This is an excellent dvd I hate exercise but really enjoy this, easy to follow, very safe even for the very unfit, you can do as little as the 8 minutes or build up to doing all the various sections. Very impressed

I have had the dvd just over a week now, and have done 4 of the 8 minute sessions each day. I have knee issues and having a low impact workout is great.
