Great athletic watch!
I’ve worn this type of watch for years. It’s not expensive, but is high quality. The features are accurate and easy to use. It can take a beating (high or low temps, physical hits) and still keeps working. Honestly the only reason I’ve ever replaced it with a new version is because I’ve lost the old one.

Solid watch
This review is for the Timex Ironman Black/Red accent. The watch is typical band, that rubbery feel band. Comfort is fine to me. Style wise, I picked this over several less appealing styles. its not totally circular, or squarish. It should be fairly easy to clean, and I usually wipe it down once a week or so. Will fit as long as your arm isnt as beefy as Popeye.Setting time in theory is simple, no instructions needed. Was a little tricky though, as I was using my phone as reference to try and set exactly. Problem is getting used to the button and which to press when. I spent a good 5min alone navigating the time setings, until I could get within 15 seconds of the phones time and finally set it.Setting the Month/Day was similar to time, but obviously easier because you arent trying to set to match down to seconds as close as possible.I do wish the indiglo backlight was a bit stronger at least. Its worthless during day time obviously. In dark, is useable, but feels too dim in my opinion. I suppose its to ensure it doesnt waste battery power, but I am not so worried about wasting power for a watch.I have not setup the alarms so have no comment on them.Price wise, style, useablity, and compared to similar priced equivalents, its a buy

Perfect little watch.
Perfect little watch.I was looking for an inexpensive digital watch that was both waterproof and backlit. This does both. It’s comfortable, not excessive in design, light, functional, and looks like it will withstand general use.

Great Watch -Some Concerns
I have purchased Timex Iron Man series, and similar, watches for many years. They are an excellent value, with good functionality overall. However, there has been one overriding negative design feature that should have been dealt with a long time ago. That is the strap quality. The strap appears to be silicone, and over time removing the strap causes it to crack prematurely, and break. The watch still functions wonderfully, but the straps are NOT replaceable. Therefore, you either need to cut of most of the strap and use it as a pocket watch (which I will NOT do), or THROW THE WATCH AWAY.Secondly, the Indiglo light design has been changed from older iterations of the watch. Older Indiglo lighting was much brighter and easier to read than in this model. Also, the text font size is now smaller and harder to read. Lastly, the button to activate the Indiglo traditionally was on the lower right button. Now, it has been moved to the upper right button. After many years of knowing where it was, it has been irritating to now still push the wrong button initially.

Exactly like I remember it
I had this exact watch as a teenager back in the early 2000’s, and I remember loving it. It was comfortable, easy to use, feature-packed, and able to take any of the (considerable) abuse a teenage boy could throw at it.Now I’m in my early thirties and looking for a watch after a long hiatus from regularly wearing one. I tried the Apple Watch for awhile, but I grew tired of having to charge it nightly, and the plethora of features packed into it tended to make it more difficult to use than necessary (your mileage may vary, of course). I wore the inexpensive, lightweight Casio F-91W for a while and mostly enjoyed it, but its quirks eventually made me decide to find something else. I decided to try the fancy (for me, anyway) Casio G-Shock GWM5610, and while I loved the features, I absolutely hated how difficult the buttons were to press. They’re recessed and very stiff, which would make my life difficult if I actually wanted to use the watch. Then I saw an old friend on Amazon: the Timex Ironman Classic 30. I had completely forgotten about it over the years, but I ordered it and it’s everything I remember. Comfier and easier to read than the Casios I’ve tried (I don’t know why Casio insists on small screens). Rugged. Feature-packed (3 alarms with differing ringtones, support for 3 time zones, nice Indiglo backlight, and a primitive occasion calendar I remember loving before I had a cell phone). These features are all intuitive to use, and they don’t get in the way. It fits like an old shoe, and I do believe my search for a watch is over.Don’t sleep on Timex, guys. Casio gets all the glory when it comes to digital watches, but Timex will treat you better.
