Keep your sports training focused with the stylish Timex T5E231 Ironman Triathlon multi-function, performance sport digital watch, which features a dark gray resin top ring sitting upon a metallic silver case and top pusher for easy access to split and lap times. Sport timing features include a 100-hour chronograph with lap or split option, 100-lap memory recall, 199 lap counter, on-the-fly recall of lap or split, and interval timers settable up to 24 hours (9 timers with countdown/stop and countdown/repeat). The training log stores workouts by date, with best lap, average lap, and total segment time, and the total run format/synchro timer maintains total activity time (less time paused during workout and overall running time. Other features include two time zones, built-in setting reminders, water resistance to 100 meters, and a black resin strap. The Timex FLIX technology activates the INDIGLO night-light on the watch without the need to press a button. A simple forward flick of your wrist with a sharp stop will illuminate the night-light for a full 5 seconds. To use FLIX, you must first activate Night-Mode by pressing and holding the INDIGLO night-light button for three seconds until it beeps. Once Night-Mode is active you may proceed to use the FLIX system as you desire. You will need to give the watch a firm shake to activate FLIX technology. This is necessary to ensure that the INDIGLO night-light won't go off at the slightest vibration or change in direction.
The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function.

Customers say
Customers find this watch to be a great running timepiece with large, easy-to-read numerals and intuitive functions. They appreciate its value for money, with one customer noting it's particularly suitable for distance runners. While the functionality and durability receive mixed reviews – some find it very functional and durable, while others report it stops working or breaks within a year – customers consistently praise its appearance and size, with one noting the large face makes it particularly useful for nighttime running.

Perfect for Training (Swimming) Purposes…. 5 Star for what it does as a training watch!
This is already my 2nd TIMEX which I use for my swimming practices..This one beats the older model (Timex 51931 Ironman Triathlon) with some interesting changes:1) The larger digits on this model makes it easier to read the numbers (as some mentioned to do so when running) even when I am swimming, with a quick flick of the wrist at the turn, it’s possible to see the minutes and the seconds…. The older model had smaller number, thus not making it possible to do this.2) The navigation on this model became quite easier. It was already easy on the older model but this one included instructions on screen, such as NEXT, DONE, + or – in order to advance with your practices and training… Plus a chance to change the way you want to see the information of the your laps (Laps in the big digits and splits at the smaller one, or the oposite)A Real nice add on by TIMEX.3) A simple but effective wrist band “clip” (the tiny piece of strap that attachs the “extra” wrist band that is left after you put the clock on)It has a piece of rubber on the inside that locks on at the wrist band and does not make it loose or even letting it go as some other watches do sometimes. This is more effective underwater I think, as it remains the way you set your wrist, as the older model I had did not quite held in place all the time.4) Plenty of memory (100 laps is really a nice number), maybe more then most will need but, as a swimmer I use to count splits over 100m (or yards) with many laps during one training… It is quite usefull. I go easily on 10 to 15 laps of the memory in one training. And with the date feature, that reminds when you did these times, it is quite usefull to keep track on the training with a spreadsheet, for instance… (as I do !)5) A really big START/SPLIT buttom that is great to press when I am swimming laps and have to press myself at each turn at the pool.Just perfect. Never a miss !And the feature which was already at most of the models, of the repeat countdown, and the start of a chrono, or a repeat (what I use the most) in order race agains your average rhitym inside a certain time frame that you can set it up ! And of course the flix technology, which is very good to have it… Just flick your wrist (when you set it to ON) and it will show you at night all info that you need.It is another great watch from TIMEX and it deserves a look, specially for the price. It is worth to pay a bit more if you are like me and uses a lot of the memory for the laps on swimming pool. Maybe for runners it can be quite a lot of memory, but the price difference is worth the change, for some of the options mentioned at this review. This is a really good watch to have..Will you definatelly like as we all are at these reviews.:-) It deserves the 5 stars rating !

clean big face; easy access features; light; effective
If you’re looking for a light, easy to read watch that also has sport/triathlon features like chronometers, split times and lap timers this is a nice update on the classic timex ironman 100lap watch.Additional features: multiple alarms, two time zones, 12/24 hour settings, the memo feature of old seems to have been deleted and an “interval” feature added – can program in up to 9 segments of an interval and then chose whether intervals end after one go, or just repeat the set (woulda been nice to be able to set how many intervals you’d like to go through)I use the dual time zones quite a bit – it just makes moving between my two usual time zones literally a single button press. When using the alarms for travel, i’ve never missed a self-wakeup call – always reliable and sufficiently toneful to wake me up when i don’t want to rely on myself to get up (that time zone change thing).Super go-to functional, multipurpose knife – rather the swiss army knife of watches for me.improvements:the button layout hasn’t changed v.much in years – and that’s a feature. What has changed in the right way is- the face – so easy to read at a glance – nice if moving in particularthe indiglo lighting has improved dramatically for quick checks when it’s dark. The alarm chime, also better – no longer a beep only -it is a sort of chime. The strap feels better – and i can see there are replacements online – though i haven’t had to replace the band on my last timex ironman from when i changed it at least 3-4 years ago – so perhaps they’ve just gotten better.strap has a nice feature to keep the tail of the band close to the strap, too. This is a refresh i’ve been keen to see as i do like this classic layout/feel.The price at amazon also made the decision to refresh the face of this watch a much easier decision(the ironman i have is about 10 years old – it’s fine )hope this helps you if you’re thinking about this watch

Great watch: easy to see the numbers on the display. Simple set-up and robust. I have had this model for the last 18 years and will continue. The only issue can be that afterbattery exchange it may lose waterproof, to avoid that ask only the proffs to exchange the battery!

I love it! It’s super easy to use and it works perfectly. It has plenty of features and I love its larger display. It’s also light and comfortable to wear. I’ve been using it for over a week while lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons and it is completely waterproof. I would definitely recommend this watch for anyone looking for a high quality sport watch at a great price.
