Air Walk Elliptical from Sunny Health and Fitness
I picked one of these Sunny Health and Fitness air walk elliptical machines earlier in the year. The price was slashed $20 dollars from the regular selling price on Amazon. I also have a Sunny Health and Fitness under desk pedal machine that I bought in January of 2022. My under desk elliptical still works but the higher resistance numbers on the knob no longer work. If you turn the resistance knob all the way to the right the pedal resistance now is less than what it should be. Other than that it seems like a high quality pedal exerciser.I have a row machine exerciser that I used to use a lot but the stationary foot pedals in front are to close causing my knees to bend at an awkward angle. I no longer use my rower or my under desk pedal machine, all I use now is this Sunny Health air walk elliptical.This exerciser is sturdy and well built. They state it has a maximum weight load of 220 lbs which is my current weight at the moment. Since I’m at the maximum weight recommended I’m a bit careful getting on and off the elliptical machine.I tried using this for 40 minute workouts but that seems a bit excessive. Now I aim for 1,500 repetitions on the built in counter which is about 21 minutes then I’ll do 20 minutes more of another exercise like walking 20 minutes while wearing a 42 lb. weight vest.This elliptical has a post that extends up with a stomach pad attached. I never even installed that post and pad. I removed the post the first time I used this. Getting on this elliptical took some learning at first. It took me about 12 minutes to get the hang of using it. The main effort required to use this elliptical is by swinging your legs but when I first got on it I was trying to get it in motion by just using the arm bars, so I would get tired in just a couple minutes.The elliptical exerciser was quiet when I first bought it but started making some noise after awhile so I turned it upside down to add light duty oil to a few spots that I thought needed lubrication. It still makes some noise but if I have my television or radio on I don’t notice it at all. Of course adding lubrication to the moving parts will cause some oil to drip down, so after I added oil I placed it on a mat for a couple days so as to not stain the carpet with oilThis was great bargain as an exercise machine for the sale price I bought it at. Some other different retailers also had this elliptical discounted at the same time as Amazon. I’m pretty athletic and the only exercise that really gets my heart rate up is hill walking. I live in a valley in the California high desert with a lot of hills. I can work up a sweat in the summertime using this but I don’t really huff and puff while on this elliptical exerciser. I highly recommend the Sunny Health and Fitness air walker as purchase choice. It seems well built and it looks like it will last quite a while.

Ok for a little workout
It’s made very well, easy to just attach the arms and counter. The workout quality could be a little more robust for me—I wish it had a larger range of motion, hence the 4 stars. However, if you swing back and forth quickly, you can exert a little more effort. I also didn’t attach the front pad—it doesn’t seem to end up in a comfortable place for me, but then again I’m only 5’5”. I haven’t seen a knob or anything to adjust the tension—I’ll have to look again. It’s on the heavier side as is expected, but still fold s up pretty easily for storage.

Good for the price. I can use this.
If you can afford a more expensive machine, buy one. However, you probably wouldn’t be reading this review if you could afford something fancy. I paid less than $100 for this and I expect to get at least that amount of use out of it. I’m 5’8″ and the step is a little short for me, but good enough to use for short periods of time. If you’re shorter, this might work better for you. If you’re taller, I don’t know if you’ll need a longer step. I bought this to have a standing indoor exercise option to go with my rowing machine and exercise bike, because my seat was getting sore from too much sitting. Now I can switch back and forth. However, I can’t see myself using this for long periods of time.I’m using this machine only with the handles, not with the abdomen support piece or the little electronic monitor thing. The handles were easy to put on, but I wasn’t able to tighten them enough with the little wrench that is provided with the kit. They still rattled, so I ended up using a longer wrench with more leverage. No extra tools are technically required, but you might benefit from getting a better wrench. The wrenches I bought were “Crescent 10 Pc. 12 Point Metric Combination Wrench Set – CCWS3,” and if I remember right, the one that fits the handlebar bolts is #13. The instructions for putting it together are very detailed, in clear English with diagrams, and were fairly easy to figure out though I’m not very mechanical. It took me a bit of time, puzzling over the diagrams, to figure out what parts they were talking about.If you’re new to putting together these kits, note that to get bolts properly tight, you need to partially tighten one bolt, then partially tighten the other, alternating back and forth until both are tight and neither one moves. That is a tip that was taught to me by a tool savvy person. If you try to tighten one bolt all the way, then tighten the other bolt all the way, that is not only bad for the life expectancy of the parts, but also causes the part to come loose, which will cause rattling noises and safety issues. Wearing cotton gloves from the hardware store makes it more comfortable to use the wrench, which digs into your palms otherwise. The tool included in the kit does not have a comfortable grip. Gloves, and therefore lack of pain when using the wrench, enables you to get the bolts tighter. However, don’t tighten too much, or you’ll strip the bolt! Stripping the bolt means the parts are damaged and can no longer be tightened, and the whole machine will no longer be usable. That’s why you want to alternate back and forth, until you can’t turn either bolt with a reasonable push. This process is not difficult, but I’ve noticed that assembly instructions for kits like this never give people that advice, and I think it would be frustrating not to know it.One thing you should know is that the little electronic monitor runs on an old-fashioned battery, I think AAA or smaller, and not the smaller, more long-lasting battery that powers most modern electronic devices. I don’t plan to use the monitor anyway, so that’s a non-issue for me.With the bolts properly tightened, the machine seems sturdy. There’s a very small amount of noise. I’ll be playing music anyway. I don’t want to guess how long this will hold up, but like I said, I think I’ll get $100 worth of exercise out of it. It takes up even less room than I expected from reading the description. I have hardwood floors, and so far it has not rocked or slid, though they recommend using a mat.I was somewhat hoping to use it without holding onto the handles, but without also breaking my neck. Doing that is NOT recommended by the company! If you have sufficient core strength, maybe that will work, but you wouldn’t want to fall off the pedals. After a few steps, I ended up grabbing the handles again for stability. If you don’t want a machine where you have to hold the handles, this is probably not the machine for you.If something majorly goes wrong or changes, I’ll try to remember to update this review. I’ve just finished putting it together, and wanted to review it while the experience was still fresh in my mind.
