    Highly recommend!
Without a doubt – best book purchase to help prepare me for my CPT exam! I just happened to finish all my “exam prep” books and grabbed this to start a few days before the test – SOOOO glad I did! It made everything “click” in very understandable ways.

    Comprehensive Strength Training Book
I bought 2 other books on strength training but found them lacking–one focused mainly on squats, the other had beautiful photos but nothing about how often to train, how to tell whether you are injured or just sore, what your diet should be, etc. The Science of Strength Training has it all. The color photos show muscles, tendons, bones, etc. in detail. They also show how your muscles change with training, which muscles are worked on which exercise, and how to train for strength versus build. I like this book so much I also bought one for my sister and one for a friend. My fencing coach has also ordered one to help him work with his students. The book is not perfect, I think the section on diet focuses too much on carb, and there’s an error on page 9 (the pictures on endomorph and mesomorph body shape do not make sense to me. I think they should be switched). But these are minor problems for such a comprehensive book. Buy this one and chances are you won’t need to buy another.
