Simple Solution to Install a Doorway Bar
I use the Iron Gym bar to hang to improve a shoulder impingement. Really clever design. Easy to install, no drilling needed & very sturdy. Saw that some reviews mentioned the possibility of damaging the door frame, so I put folded cloth under the bearing points which works great. Use padded gloves to protect my hands, which also helps protect the padding on the bar. This is a great product. Keep in mind that if used for hanging, the bar may not be high enough to allow full body weight and only partial weight hanging.

Solidly built and sturdy, easy to put away
Love it! I love how it just hangs atop the door and uses your weight leverage to hold it in place so we can put it away when done. Very solidly built and you can adjust grip width so feel confident in training on it.

My husband loves it
My husband loves using this when he works out. Easy and convenient to use and to place on the door trim wall. However it did create small black marks from the color rubbing on the wall. It is pretty annoying to see the mark on the wall on top of the door. I’m sure a lot of the same equipments are same. I decided to give this a 5 star rating because my husband really likes to use it and still have it, and he has no issues using it.

4 stars
Fast delivery. Easy to install. Took me at least 35 mins to put together and figure out how screws were hard supposed to screw in. Instructions wasn’t straightforward, alignment was off. Other than that, grip is sturdy. Padding is soft. Easy storage capacity. No damage to door frame.

This is a good, sturdy product and a good value for the money.
I like this product. I am a female senior with a lot of low back pain due to arthritis, disk degeneration, etc. It is hanging from my door frame and I can hang on it. (I weigh 122 pounds.) It stretches my spine and feels good. It is quite sturdy. I think it would hold much more weight. I think the door frame would come down before the Iron Gym pull up bar would break. It is also a good value for the money.

Terrible
I think we got one which the person who wrote the review below returned, but didn’t realize until today since my 15 year old son thought that it’s his fault and threw it in his closet….——-“There are rejects in every production line, and mine is one of those. I think, judging from extra tape on the box, that they sent me a returned item; in “new” condition, so, OK I’m not going to quibble. But nearing completion of the assembly, I found that the drill holes through the two halves of the bar do not align, one half to the other, making it impossible to assemble. If I’m right that it was a returned item, that is why it was returned. It’s a reject the manufacturer should have detected. I noticed another review said basically the same thing about misalignment on assembly, and I may have the one he returned! (Or the manufacturer shipped out an entire defective batch.)Detail: The bar comes in two pieces, with an alignment notch, so you can’t rotate one half within the other, i.e. there’s only one way to fit them together. Old school engineering dating back decades, and in this instance, I don;t see why it’s necessary. When fitted together, one bolt points straight up, as it should be, but the other points about forty degrees off-vertical, so you can’t attach the assembled bar to the two curved pieces. Once, long ago, I recall a similar problem, but the discrepancy in alignment was only a millimeter or so, and I forced it. This misalignment is almost a centimeter and can’t be forced. Either the alignment “bump” inside the larger diameter half has to be filed down, or it has to be drilled out, to allow the two halves to rotate.Overall, a disappointment with the ungainly design, and with myself for not inspecting more carefully before buying.”

Seems sturdy. Easy to assemble, tad there are 4 screws and it comes with a wrench. And the metal tubes are pretty solid. When assembled it was too wide for the door way. I took off the rubber end caps and cut off 1.5 inches off each side and then put the rubber caps on again. Fits perfectly. I also wanted it higher so on the backside of the door frame I secured a piece of wood that boosts the bar up about 2.25 inches. This will also help with the weight (I’m 220lbs) on the moulding around the door. The only thing that puzzles me is that everything is metal but the bar that rests horizontally on the back of the door frame. It’s plastic. Seems somewhat durable, but I wonder if that will be the thing that might break. We will see.***Update (3 weeks later): solid and functional. I’ve done about 900 chin ups/pull ups on it, and it flexes, but it is sturdy and solid. The foam pads have ripped a bit, but I just use hockey tape and wrap the handles. No other issues. Great purchase.

I use it to deadhang and stretch out the spine after an entire day of sitting. You can physically feel the lower spine stretched out and more relaxed after doing so. Give it 4 stars as one of the holes for the screws was shredded and didn’t work right, but I was still able to build and use it.
