Moreover, the product receives positive feedback for its quality, value for money, and comfort, with one customer noting it's not irritating to wear for long periods. However, opinions about heart rate tracking are mixed, with some finding it very helpful while others say it grossly underestimates readings.

Amazing Customer Service!
Updated review as of 8/15/2025. Received a new HR monitor from the seller after I was contacted by them. The new unit immediately connected with the Peloton and works great. I don’t know if the other was a lemon or the battery was dead, but either way, customer service is stellar!Wouldn’t turn on, pair with peloton.I bought this to replace previous HRM. Attached to strap, moistened contacts…nothing. Peloton didn’t even see it. Went to help web site. Redid all of the above. Briefly saw it in the list as available to pair, but it wouldn’t and then it was not even in the list. Perhaps battery low or just plain defective unit. Either way I’m not changing out a battery on a brand new device. I will get something else.

Accurate, fairly priced, comfortable, good battery life
I purchased this Powr chest heart rate monitor because I was having a lot of variance measuring my heart rate on my Garmin Fenix 7 while running and sometimes while biking. It was very frustrating to watch my heart rate spike when I know it wasn’t spiking. This has been super accurate when compared to multiple other sources. It’s comfortable to wear, and as far as I can tell, has incredibly battery life. It connects via ANT+ and I’ve never had even a moment of issues of connectivity for my Garmin watch, my Garmin Edge bike computer, or connecting it to any gym equipment that supports connecting it to Bluetooth external heart rate monitors. It’s very convenient to not have to hold the handles while running on a treadmill and see your live heart rate data just as accurately. Highly recommend.

READ CAREFULLY AS THIS MAY NOT BE THE DEVICE FOR YOU!
Before I purchased this, I wrote to Powrlabs customer support to find out if this had a warranty. They wrote back and told me I’d need to send them a copy of the invoice and tell them the problems I am having and THEN they would tell me what the warrant is. Hmmm. Sounds fishy, no? I bought it anyway and paid for the extended warranty. Next, I tried to find a simple app to track my heart rate. That’s it. No location sharing, no nothing, just give me my heart rate on a graph on my phone. Care to guess the results? Yup, no luck. I may be returning this as it all depends on the ability to find an app. Not pleased with this whole process so far. This will be updated as things progress.

Great value!
I have compared this simultaneously with an optical armband and Garmin watch, and the PowerLabs is quicker to repond to changes in heart rate during exercise and can read higher peaks during brief, hard efforts. For instance, if I go from resting to very vigorous exercise like pullpus, and back to resting- the chest strap reading raises faster and will peak higher, then start coming down faster than the optical sensors. And the optical sensors never register the true peak, because my heart rate is already falling again before they’ve caught up with it. However, on steady efforts like jogging or resting, they all tend to agree pretty closely with each other.I was concerned that the chest strap felt uncomfortable the first time I put it on, but I very quickly got used to it and now I don’t mind it at all. I run the contact area under water and/or dampen my chest where it sits to ensure a good contact and have had no problems with a reading. I’ve also run in the rain with it with no problems, so the monitor unit seems properly waterproof. It syncs right up to my watch and phone apps. The MapmyRun app was a little reluctant to connect, but it eventually did- perhaps because I gave up on it, connected another app, then went back to MapmyRun and it connected immediately.Another cool thing is my Garmin watch will automatically detect lactate threshold with this chest strap. which it cannot do with its own optical sensor or the optical arm band, and it detected my threshold within one beat of my result from the Joe Friel 30 minute test.Anyway- it’s working well so far at a fraction of the cost of a Garmin strap. I’ll update the review if anything changes.UPDATEAfter about 6 months, the battery died, but I emailed Powrlab and provided my amazon order number and they sent 2 good quality replacement batteries.I also had problems with cadence lock in cool weather when I’m sweating less, but I bought some electrode gel and that works great, so still happy with my purchase.Have fun!

Works with Samsung Health app
I bought this to use when working out with kettlebells since they would damage my Galaxy Watch. It does work with Samsung Health and it seem to be accurate and gives a similar reading as my watch. If I have any issues after a month then I will update this review.

Better than Garmin original
I bought 2 of these after 10 years of replacing expensive Garmin originals for cycling. These are excellent, way better than the original. They work perfectly, the batteries last longer and are easier to replace and they have been through the washing machine (accidentally) many times with no problems. 5*

Almost great but intermittent connectivity issues
I really want to love this product, because when it works, it works fabulously. I use it about three times a week when I ride my Peloton, but I find connectivity to come and go. I learned that i need to start wearing the product about 10 minutes before I exercise to get it to wake up, which alone is fine, but sometimes the connection still drops out during the exercise, even after it is moist with perspiration to make contact. Maybe it’s just an issue with my body conductivity and others will not have the same issue, because it is a very nice addition when functional

I paired this device via Bluetooth with my Garmin Instinct 1 watch and it was a bit problematic, because of the watch not this product. It paired the first attempt but Garmin non intuitive menus had be trying to pair it even though it was paired. Typical Garmin, great hardware, but lacking user interface. So you can’t blame this product. Re-pairs to the watch quickly when you put on the strap. Pairs easily via ANT+ to my Rogue Echo Rower. Using the product is great. Relying on the watches hr monitor during HIIT cardio is frustrating as most of the time I’ll see 80-90 bpm when I’m really working hard. Using this product shows an actual increase in BPM when working harder and is quick to change when you change effort. Very happy with it so far.

Funktioniert sehr gut mit meinem Sigma Rox und auch mit Roovy. Knopfzelle nach 12 Monaten das erste mal gewechselt.
