great help with a difficult exercise
This works as expected. I am able to get a few sets of 10 pull ups. I am coming back from open heart surgery and it is tough. I appreciate that I am able to start getting such and important complex exercise back in. Shortening the length provides more counterbalance and lengthening provides less, so more difficult. I also believe in going all the way down and all the way up and not doing the half way thing. These give the most tension at the bottom and so it makes it easier to start. The only problem is that it puts a lot of pressure on your foot at the bottom. Only 1 foot fits in the stirrup. I found it uncomfortable it it was in the arch of my foot. It was great if I placed it at my heal.

    Great for building up strength/endurance.
What I like most is that a.) it’s easily adjustable so that you can find the “right” resistance for you, and b.) it’s super strong and can easily support a heavier person. (I’m 230 and I never feel like the band is being stressed.)

Really liked the product. helping me with my Pull Ups.
I tried a few different options and liked this one the best. I don’t think it really has 200 pounds of assist. I weight 220 and am just getting back into shape so needed a lot so needed more support. It only had 3 bands for full support. Wasn’t enough for me as I needed about 4. So I had to buy 2 of these and just use 2 of three bands on each with a foot in each one and it worked greta for me. As I get stronger I can go tothree bands and just use one of the tools. It is easy to adjust between 1 and three bands. Overall I like it and still happy with it despite buying two. Its better than any other similar product out there.

    Very strong and sturdy
I’m kind of a beginner/intermediate level. I’m at about 200 lbs, I have a home gym with a pull-up station and I can’t do a pull-up to save my life. That’s before I purchased this pull-up assist band. After about 2 months of assisted pull-ups, I now can do a single unassisted pull-up! I’m guessing in a years time I can do a bit more than just 1. Small steps at a time. Now, let’s talk about the band. Like I said, I’m about 200 lbs, and it can pull me up without a hiccup. The band is very strong. I’m standing on the strap with all of my weight on it and it’s still very bouncy. The straps that hold the bands together are very well constructed and very heavy duty. I’m guessing this thing will last for years. So if you want to start doing pull-ups, start with this band. You could even bring it to your gym if they permit outside equipment. Because there shouldn’t be any shame in needing assistance. Every “pro” was a beginner at one point. And that’s my 2 cents.

Not Enough Assist for An Old Guy
This review probably applies to most, if not all, of these pull-up assist devices. I am 83 and weigh 165 lbs. and actively cycle so I am not in bad shape. However, even on the maximum assist, I can barely get my chin over the bar for 4 consecutive chins. The assist is OK until you get a couple of inches below the bar and then seems to be completely nonexistent. If you are older or heavier, I would go for one of these with a lot more assist than this one. I am 5’11” and I can hold the top chin over bar about 30 secs max with the assist at max. I calculated what weight I was actually chinning at that point and it comes out to 90 lbs. So that is the real assist; it may be 130 lbs at the bottom but it decreases to about 90 lbs when your chin over the bar. So your getting 70 lbs of assist, not 130 lbs. I am keeping the apparatus but getting a heavier band only that goes up to 170 lbs. With this heavier band I should get a few extra pounds to get my starting chins at max around 10. I hope this helps.

Great pullup assist band. It holds my big burley 190 lb self up while doing pullups. I don’t need to use it anymore because it helped me get jacked and be a pullup machine! Get you one of these ASAP!

I’m petite and don’t have very strong upper body strength. This has been a game changer. I’m feel more encouraged and look forward to doing a variety of pull ups with more reps. This has been a game changer.
