Full of valuable information for feeding young athletes
My teenage daughters swim competitively and run track and I struggle with meal planning. This book is an absolute God send. First of all it’s super easy to read and contains loads of information on proper nutrition, meal ideas, how to feed young athletes before competitive events etc. I learned a lot and feel way more confident about meal planning for my daughters. I highly recommend for any parent who is feeding young athletes.

A must-read for parents!
Love this book! It is well written and full of useful information for every parent. Jill includes helpful suggestions for the holes in young athletes’ diets, pre-game/ post-game refueling. Her book also clears up some myths- such as carb loading for young athletes before games. My family will definitely benefit from the information In this book. Each parent should have a copy of Eat Like a Champion! Great for coaches too!

Good Information, written more to the mom than the athlete
I bought this for my 16 year old grandson. It had the information that I wanted him to have, and is very readable. It does seem to be written more for the mother of the athlete. But these young adults are at a point in life that they need to be taking more control of their diet themselves. It had the information I thought he needed, and maybe he will appreciate discussing this with his parents, in a better educated frame of reference

Thought provoking
My young athlete has developed increasingly challenging pickiness and doesn’t seem to understand the correlation between diet and performance (but he’s almost ten, so I’m not expecting miracles). This book helped to clarify my own thinking and has helped me develop strategies and find resources to help him understand that he can take control of his diet in healthy ways and not just restrictive ways.

Informative, Dry
Found there is a LOT of information packed in here, but it’s not terribly accessible for kids to read, which is what I was hoping for. I did find a lot of overview information, but if you are looking for very specific cases and targeted information, perhaps not the best choice out there. Still, I kept it because I will use it as a reference tool now and then. But it was pretty dry overall.
