Our Recommendations
This chair is ideal for individuals looking for a value-oriented piece of equipment for their home gym. We recommend ensuring all bolts are fully tightened upon assembly to maximize stability. Potential buyers, especially those at the extremes of the height spectrum, should consider the mixed feedback on adjustability to ensure it will be a comfortable fit for their body type.

Solid Core Performance on a Budget
The Cap Strength Roman Chair is a popular piece of home gym equipment for those looking to strengthen their core, lower back, glutes, and hamstrings without breaking the bank. Offering functionality for hyperextensions, sit-ups, and potentially other exercises, it aims to provide a solid platform for essential bodyweight movements. But does it deliver on its promise of strength and stability?Assembly and Build Quality:Relatively straightforward to assemble, with clear instructions and all necessary hardware typically included. Expect to spend around 30 minutes to an hour putting it together.A decent level of sturdiness for its intended exercises. The powder-coated finish offers some protection against scratches and rust. For the average home user the build is adequate.Stability and Performance:It provides a stable base for controlled movements. The padded surfaces for the hips and ankles are generally comfortable enough for typical workout durations. The hip pads are wide and supportive, while the ankle rollers provide adequate cushioning. Adjustability is a strong point, with multiple height settings for the hip pads to accommodate users of different statures, allowing for proper form and effective targeting of muscle groups.Overall:The Cap Strength Roman Chair is a solid choice for home gym enthusiasts seeking a budget-friendly way to perform essential core and posterior chain exercises. It offers decent stability, good adjustability for the price, and is generally effective for its intended purposes. While it may not have the robust feel or premium features of high-end commercial equipment, it provides excellent value and a reliable platform for achieving a stronger core, healthier lower back, and well-developed glutes and hamstrings in the comfort of your own home. If your budget is a primary concern and your needs align with its capabilities, the Cap Strength Roman Chair is definitely worth considering.

great addition to gym!
was waiting for this to go on sale and it finally did. I really like this addition to my garage gym. Some people say its uncomfortable but its not too bad! It’s no lazy boy but it gets the job done. 4 stars because it’s not the most comfortable

Unfortunately, you get what you pay for.
I wanted a GHD without the bulky size and price point. You can find many 45 degree versions or benches that do the same thing, but they are not vary comfortable to use and they don’t feel that secure. If you don’t know already, CAP sells rebranded low budget gym equipment. Which can be good or bad depending on what you’re looking for. Unfortunately it is one of those items where you get what you pay for. It’s unfortunate because the design of the product is good, but the product itself it cheaply put together. The welds on this are terrible and for some reason they decided not to put a full bead on all 4 sides of the square tubing. I guess they do this to save time? Seems a bit odd as another bead on the other 2 sides would make it stronger and look better. They do this on every welded part and not just some parts where it would make sense to only put 2 welds. Seems odd. With that said I wouldn’t recommend this machine for people on the heavy side or if you plan on doing weighted hypers as the welds could break. There’s a review you can find with a picture where someone had this happen. So as said before it’s unfortunate it’s not made at a higher quality. The function is there, but the build quality is not.I still give it 5 stars simply because you can’t beat the price and the design, but use at your own risk. There are other options you can find on Amazon, but again their designs are different and more bulky.

Expectations are important
This is the <$100 version of a $700 piece of exercise equipment. Set your expectations accordingly and it is a great product. 5’10”, 200lbs and I use it almost daily with no wobble or concern even at full extension. Put together easily in less than an hour. Build/material quality isn’t the best but you get what you pay for and this is the most cost effective option for what I needed in my setup.

Low budget equipment for a low budget price
I understand that at 86 bucks, you kinda get what what you pay for. I just needed a cheap solution for back extensions and maybe some core stuff. No part of this feels secure, everything wiggles loosely in some way and if you think “maybe it’s just not tight enough” and try to tighten the screws, you can see the metal visibly sink as it begins to get crushed by the washer. It’s acceptable, doesn’t feel dangerous but also doesn’t really inspire confidence at the same time. It’s just a sad piece of equipment that eventually needs replaced with something real. I’m sure there are Temu products better than this for less.

Don’t do business with CAP Barbell!!
Once I got around to assembling the product, I noticed parts were missing and the foot support part included was not the correct part as shown in the pictures. I contacted support and did get a response after some time. About a month and a few days later they sent a part but it was the wrong part again. I even specified the missing part number according to their manual. I contacted again and a few later they said they would send me the correct part. After requesting updates and getting a minimal response that they don’t have the part and then no response for weeks I contacted Amazon support. Amazon issued me a refund after I disassembled and packaged up the equipment for UPS pickup. Waste of time and money to repackage it. Also this equipment was pretty weak and not stable. There was a noticeable sag on the supporting bar. This would’ve probably broke within a year. If your a bodybuilder or a crossfitter do not buy nor do business with CAP. Cheap products and no support. You get what you pay for and it ended up costing me time and money. Buyer beware. :/After I sent back the equipment I finally got a response from their support with a tracking number. I’m sure it’s the wrong part again but I will never know as I will toss it in the trash if it’s delivered as I emailed them to revoke the shipment.

I didn’t expect much for the price but expectations are so exceeded. It isn’t as comfortable as a commercial size GHD but it also isn’t a thousand bucks.Easily assembled, and at 175cm and 90kg I’ve had no stability problems at all doing full range of motion on situps and hyperextensions.Would buy again.

I finally bit the bullet and bought it. It was super easy to assemble, but I did have the husband do a once over and make sure all the bolts were fully tightened. I do find it quite stable, granted I’m only 5’8″ and 127lbs, but I can do my extensions holding a 35lb plate and it doesn’t move in the slightest. The one issue I do have is the padding. Probably because I’m on the thinner side, but the padding isn’t very forgiving. It’s actually quite painful when I rise up and the inside edges of each cushion dig into either side of my pubic bone. I’ve stuffed a small blanket between the pads and it has helped somewhat, but it still hurts when I add weight and everything gets pressed between the cushioning. It’s not a deal breaker, I’m just boney and will have to accomodate to that part, I guess. Either way, I’m very happy with my purchase. Amazon had it packed, shipped and on my porch in 2 days. =))
