    Great weighted walking vest
This is a great weighted vest. When it first comes out of the package, it has a bit of a smell, but once it is aired out, it is fine. The flexibility to add or take away weight is great! The purpose of our purchase was for weighted walking, and it’s great. It took a bit to get used to as the side sticks out a bit (as pictured), and rubbed against my arm, but after wearing it more often (or under something), it’s not bothersome. It is comfortable to wear with the weight and easy to put on. If you are looking for a weighted vest for walking, this is a great option. It is very affordable and of nice quality!

    Not for smaller framed women
This vest is well made, I really want to love it, but the sizing is not great for smaller framed women. I have a difficult time getting it tight enough to where it is not moving and causing friction during my entire workout. I use it for weighted walks on the treadmill but cannot do much more than that given the sizing.

Definitely helps burn more calories walking with vest
Perfect fit for this large busted woman. I am so thankful it is adjustable. I started with 12 lbs and will work my way up. Definitely burn more calories according to my Fitbit during 30 minute walk wearing vest. I feel like I am floating when I take off, lol!

    80 and 100 pound comparison
I bought the 80-pound vest 2.5 years ago. I used it nearly every day for squats until my cat decided it would make a good litter box. I figure I got my money’s worth out of it, and it was time for a better one anyway, so I ordered the 100-pound. I didn’t order the 100-pound because I need that much weight. I got it because I wanted the steel weights instead of the sandbags that come with the 80-pound and lower weight vests. The 80-pound served me well. There was a tear in the shoulder strap similar to what another reviewer posted. I was okay with that because it was not going to come apart completely. Like I said, I used it nearly every day. My main complaint about the 80- was that the sand bags were so difficult to get in and out of the pockets that I never bothered to change the weight and just kept it about 65 pounds. You can see in the pictures how much bigger the sand bags are. The 80- vest is much larger than the 100+. The steel weights are very easy to get in and out of the pockets. The sand bags are all 3 pounds. The steel ones are 3 and 1.5 pounds. The 80- comes is one piece and has padded shoulders. It isn’t adjustable and hangs at my waist and I’m 6’4″. The 100+ comes in two pieces (pictured) and does not have pads in the shoulders. The 100+ is adjustable. I tried wearing it at the shortest setting but I couldn’t reach the straps that go around you to secure it. I let it out maybe 3 inches front and back and now it sits a couple inches above my waist. The 100+ is a much snugger fit which is great. The 80- was too loose to do push-ups with but I can use the 100+ for that no problem. I definitely prefer my new 100-pound vest over the older one. Obviously the price jumps up quite a bit when you go from 80 to 100 pounds. When I bought the 80 I think the 100 was about double the price of the 80 but right now the 100 is only $150. I think that’s a pretty good deal for a versatile, durable piece of equipment that I’ll use every day.Even if you need less than 80 pounds the 100 pound vest better if you can handle the price. The main drawback for the 80- is how tight the weights fit in the pockets and the size. If you’re a smaller person the 80-pound is going to be very large on you. I don’t know if the lighter ones are just as big or not. They could be smaller and have fewer pockets. I suspect the 120 is exactly like the 100 because there are enough pockets to hold 46 three-pound weights. That would make the vest 138 pounds plus the weight of the vest which is probably about 5 pounds empty. So to truly be 150 pounds the vest would need 4 more pockets. Mine came with 103.5 pounds of weights-23 3-pound and 23 1.5-pound and there are 46 pockets but they will all take the 3-pound weights.I’d give the 80-pound 4 stars because of the tight pockets. The 100-pound costs more but the advantages are worth it. Now if I can just keep it out of the reach of my cat….

Tore apart after a few workouts. Not a quality product.
I recently had the experience of trying out the CAP Barbell weighted vest, courtesy of my husband who unfortunately ordered two by mistake. Here’s an expansive review of both vests after utilizing them in five different CrossFit workouts. For context, my husband has a 34” waist and a 45” chest, and as a fitness instructor, he’s quite familiar with what’s needed for a solid workout. Upon assembly, placing the weights into the vest pockets was straightforward, and initially, it fit reasonably well. However, we soon encountered some notable challenges. One of the primary drawbacks is the lack of adjustability in the vest design. While it fits well enough for general workouts, it becomes cumbersome during high-intensity activities like sprints, burpees, and any jumping exercises. This limitation can impede performance, which is frustrating during a CrossFit session.Additionally, we observed that the Velcro rings began to stretch after just a few workouts. This issue was significant enough that they would come halfway off the adjustment straps, requiring him to stop mid-workout to re-thread them. Unfortunately, the problem escalated to the Velcro strap tearing completely off while he was wearing the vest. At that point, the vest became impractical, flopping around and rendering it essentially useless. In summary, after five workouts, the vest’s construction and materials became significant concerns. The steel rings, while sturdy in appearance, have proven too flexible under minimal force, affecting the overall usability. Given these issues, I would have to conclude that the CAP Barbell weighted vest is not a worthwhile investment; the combination of poor construction, limited adjustability, and subpar materials makes it difficult to recommend. It’s disappointing, as we had high hopes for this product based on its initial promise. If you’re considering a weighted vest, it may be worth exploring other options that offer better adjustability and durability.

Stiching of pouches for weight is poor and they come out when you try to fit the weight inside the many pouches…Also no shoulder support so you will feel the marks on your shoulders after using it for a little while. Design should be rethought.

I have been using this gear for a month now; every other day. LIKES: It is well made and designed for the type of workouts that I do. Although it is supposedly intended or, designed for a woman, it fits comfortably well on a man. It feels very comfortably while doing the stair-master and, it is not too bad while doing interval training on the Treadmill. The weights are well made and fit just great in their individual pockets. As well, 30 lbs are more than enough weight for this vest and/or, any workout; it also has room available to add more weight if needed. DISLIKES: Not as much as a dislike but, as a point to improve. It could use a small holder/pocket on either side of the shoulder strap, to hold a small MP3, iPod or Cell phone in case the individual wants to listen to music during the workout/walk. I definitely like and recommend!
