    Work Horse
A few years ago I purchased a low cost hyperextension roman chair for around $100. Initially it did the job. Our primary use was hyperextension situps for myself and two sons (our average weight is over 260lbs). We notice immediately that with our weight we needed to add several sandbags to counter weight it. Within 3 wks the board under the seat cracked. I ordered a replacement and it also broke within a few weeks. So, I replaced the board with 3/4″ plywood and that worked for quite a while. Then the padded leg support broke and I had to drill a hole through the pillar and replace it with a 3/4″ pipe. That worked for about a year and then the seat board broke and I decided that was enough jimmy rigging and bought the Titan GHD…what a work horse. We have been able to increase the weight we use significantly and use a much wider variety of exercises without as much as a scratch. We’ve added lower back hyperextensions, hamstring curls, side bends, rotation work and medicine ball work without any issues. The Titan GHD took about an hour to assemble (the instructions were a bit smaller font than I would prefer). The step by step instructions were easy to follow. I used a ratchet and open end wrench to complete the assembly (not included). After completing the assembly I was eager to try it out. Unfortunately, I found that one of the seat pads was significantly softer than the other. I reached out to Titan and they had a replacement pad sent to me the next day (great support in a timely manner). With the new replacement pad in place I got on and did a few hyperextension situps – they were some of the most comfortable situps I had done in years – the seat on the machine felt like it was designed for the exercise. My sons and I put it through a full test on the first day…trying all the various exercises and using various weights. We found that it was extremely stable with our body weight and up to an additional 30lbs held behind our head. Adding additional weight at that point caused the foot support end to start lifting off the ground while we were extending. It wasn’t a huge amount of lift and it was easy to counterbalance. We put one sandbag on the foot support end and we could then do extensions with up to 100lbs of extra weight (two 50lb dumbbells held at the shoulders) with no sign of the front end lifting. We’ve had the Titan GHD for a couple months at this point and it gets daily use from the 3 of us and no sign of wear or stability issues. Based on our first few months we anticipate getting several years of solid use without issue. If you are serious about building core strength or posterior chain strength this is definitely a great investment. Although there are cheaper models – you seriously get what you pay for with the cheaper models. The Titan GHD is a work horse and will support pretty much anything you can throw at it. Highly recommended.

    Great for the price
I’m not normally an amazon reviewer but I felt the need with this GHD. I have a garage full of Rogue equipment and have been doing CrossFit for over 7 years. Rogue Fitness has products that are built great, come with great instructions, and are made right here in the USA. Normally I spend the extra money for their gear and pay the shipping costs to get them delivered. However, in this case I couldn’t justify the extra cost. A new Rogue GHD was going to cost me 790.00 delivered. This one was 345.00 so my wife and I agreed to give Titan Fitness a try. I have used both versions of Rogue GHDs and I can say with confidence that this one feels almost exactly the same. It is almost entirely constructed of 11ga steel (I have a Rogue Wallmount Rig and the thickness is the same) and feels like a tank. I would guess somewhere in the range of 200lbs, It’s a serious piece of hardware. The matte powder coating looks and feels the same as the Rogue equipment. All of these great things being said, there are a couple of con-ish items only because I’m anal……it’s definitely made in China as seen by the bolts. Rogue gear comes with sturdy Grade 8 or Grade 5 bolts made from good steel. These are made of cheaper steel but do the job just fine and are very sturdy. Also, the powder coat was slightly chipped during shipping in a few places.Overall, if you’re looking for a GHD that is sturdy for half the cost of the others, this is it.Finally, if there are any Rogue employees out there reading this review, it’s time to drop the price of your GHDs or at least offer free shipping……this is a REAL competitor that costs literally 1/2 the price.

    Great piece for your gym!
It arrived quick. Expect 2 well packed heavy boxes (around 120lbs each). Did a lot of research before buying this one. Almost bought the one from that very highly respected powerlifting company with great quality products (twice the price of this one) until I found this brand. I totally agree with one of the previous comments “You CAN definitely pay a lot more but you will not get more”. The quality of this product is GREAT and durable. I travel a lot and I’ve seen a lot of GHD’s around from different brands and nothing compares to this one so far. The pads are amazing and comfortable. The adjuster piece comes handy to adjust for multiple users (However… is not a single pull and click motion for this) but if its just you using it you’ll be fine. The wheels for this piece are included which makes it a little bit easier to move around if necessary. Set up was easy but need to have your nice tools around to adjust all the bolts with no issues. All together ended up being bigger/longer than expected but really stable and amazing piece of equipment. Great addition to my gym. Definitely been getting and will continue to get great bennefits from this.

    Good but not great
I wanted an affordable GHD machine for my summer home gym. I have a Rogue GHD which is rock solid but costs more than 2x . The Titan works well enough for the price. I was concerned as the pieces are bolted rather than welded together but the construction is solid and there is no slack in any parts. Assembly was easy even for a novice like me. I did place some heavy plates over the middle section as there was some uplift of the real base when doing back extensions . The only thing that does not work is the adjustment of the foot plate – the spring lever is just too not releasing. Not a problem for me as I am the only one using the GHD but if need to adjust during workouts , this is a real issue. I’d give it 5 stars otherwise.
