Our Recommendations
Upon receiving, we strongly recommend airing out the vest in a well-ventilated area for 3-5 days to dissipate the initial manufacturing smell. To ensure stability and comfort, fasten the adjustable straps so the elastic portion sits securely at your waist, not higher on the chest. Always wear a dark, washable t-shirt underneath the vest to prevent skin irritation and protect lighter-colored clothing from potential sweat stains or color transfer.
Conclusion
The Prodigen Weighted Vest is a functional and well-made fitness tool that excels in adding resistance to a wide range of activities. While the initial odor and potential fit issues for certain body types are notable drawbacks, its comfort, balanced weight, and safety features make it a solid choice. It is ideal for users seeking a reliable, entry-to-mid-level vest, provided they take the time to air it out and ensure a proper fit.

Good fit
This was recommended to me, and I am happy with the purchase. I ordered the 8 pound vest. It fits well and can be adjusted to get a snug or looser fit, depending on your preference. I am a first-time weighted vest user, and would not make any changes to this. As recommended, I hung it outside for a couple of days to ensure there was no lingering oder after unpacking, and after doing so, I detected no scent from it. I am hyper-sensitive to chemical orders, so this was a concern, but I have had no issues.

Love it!!!!
I was scared to get this weight jacket because I’m small person and I bought it to walk on my treadmill and it’s perfect because it balanced me very well.I’m 4’11 and I weighed 115 pounds, so I bought the 8 pounds

Perfect Intro Vest – Functional, Comfortable, and Well-Made
As someone new to weighted vests, this was the perfect starting point. I went with the 15lb version—honestly, it felt like a bit too much at first—but after a few walks, my body adjusted and now it feels just right. It’s been a great way to add a bit of challenge to everyday movement. The vest is very functional, with adjustable straps that help get a secure, comfortable fit. It’s small enough to wear under a jacket or sweatshirt, yet doesn’t feel overly bulky. The build quality is excellent—no sand leakage at all, which I know can be an issue with some other vests.Overall, it’s well-designed, durable, and easy to use. A fantastic option for beginners or anyone looking for a compact, high-quality vest to step up their fitness game

140lb woman with the 20lb vest makes for a funny fit but it’s workable
I’m a 140lb woman and I ordered the 20lb vest which has two buckles. I was going to return this bc the fit is a little funny. I don’t even buckle the top buckle bc it’s too high, like choking me high. I ordered a similar vest that had a better fit but it felt lighter. I weighted both vests. This vest came in at just a hair over 20lb. The other vest a little bit under 18 lbs. I kept this vest for the accurate weight, I like the 20lb. I wear it upside down and it fits comfortably that way

This will change how you work out and how you feel
This weighted vest is the bomb! I’ve tried countless others and this is by far my favorite. It is comfortable to wear (almost like a gentle hug) and gives me the weight that I know will help my body continue to get stronger. I wear the 16 pounds and was worried it would not be enough. It is enough, even my husband loves this vest. As a side note, I have a 13 year old that has some anxiety and special needs…….this is awesome for him too. I just can NOT say enough about this amazing product.

Great fit!
This one came recommended by a family member and I love the fit and form of it. I am a smaller busted woman so the double buckle works well for my body.Â

Excellent
Absolutely love! I walk in this all the time to help boost my walk workout. I went with approx 10% body weight. Great product and I see so many women now using them

Best one out there, but you CAN wear it out (easy fix with glue to prevent)
After trying two other brands, I’ve settled for this brand for good, it seems. I’ve bought the 20lb and the 25lb models. The 25lb model I’ve bought twice, because if you use it a lot for running and walking, it is absolutely possible to wear it out until it starts leaking sand. If you go for longer sessions and a lot of them, the friction will eventually grind a hole through the outer shell. The inner shell is very thin, so once the outer shell has a hole…the inner one will soon follow. For me, it probably took 120 hours of exercise before it happened. There’s an easy trick to prevent this. The 2 bottom corners are your weak spots, where most of the friction is applied. I would buy super glue in spray form and spray it on those two sections before first use and spray it again after a few months. If you’ve seen that the corners are wearing thin already, you can use regular liquid super glue to seal them up again. On the photo, I’ve applied liquid super glue on the left corner, since it started leaking today.

I am 5’2″ and currently weigh 134 lbs. I bought a 12lb vest and I found that is a good weight. I wouldn’t want to go heavier. It is very comfortable to wear.

Comfortable and easy to use

I’ve jumped on the weighted vest for walking bandwagon and love it! I’m a 5 ft 3 in woman (145 lbs) and bought the 12 lb size. This vest is comfortable to wear while walking outside or on a treadmill (well, once you become accustomed to the extra weight) and is easy to take on and off. I do feel that it adds some extra intensity to my walks. In the past, I’ve tried walking with a backpack with extra weight (i.e. Rucking) but the weighted vest is much more comfortable as it fits closer to the body. The front straps are quite long for me, but I was able to fold them over a few times within the loop. The only downside to this type of vest is that you need to replace it with a new one when you want to increase to a higher weight, but I suppose I’ll gift it to a friend when that time comes.

I should have paid attention to the warning that this is a high return product. Did not receive advertised product. One strap instead of 2, 6lbs instead of 8.

I use it daily to strengthen my muscles and bones.
